I've started to use face cam in recent videos to make it a little more closer to my audience I may be small in subs but I feel in the long run it will help
No it is not necessary, it is all about you.
Are you hot ? Yes ? Go for it.
Are you funny & expressive ? Go for it !
Do you want to build a relation with your subs ? Seeing a face is better than a voice over.
Personally, gaming videos are not my favorite so i don't usually watch them. But if there's a face cam that looks interesting enough in the thumbnail, I will watch it. So face cams may appeal to a larger audience. But if youre very strict about the gaming stuff and want to be serious then maybe go without
It depends. To me, in this type of video, they´re not. Actually, they can be distracting and annoying. Only show your face if you have something amazing to show. If you´re drop dead gorgeus, that can work in your favour. Other than that, i don´t see the point.
Not always, but with horror games people do like seeing you scream and jump and such. I guess it mostly depends on if you're playing the kind of game that would have you make a lot of interesting facial reactions that are so good, you just need a webcam so they can see you.
I believe facecams allow creators to hold the interest of a broader segment of the viewing population. My kids watch videos all day long and some of those guys are annoying as anything, but I find the ones with facecams a bit more engaging for a very casual gamer like myself. My wife isn't a gamer at all but she will watch pewdiepie and cupquake if the kids are watching it. She agrees about the facecam...it makes it more appealing to non gamers or casual gamers.
