Are Channel Trailers worth it?

I've made one just to highlight the variety of stuff on my channel. I used to just have my most recent/best video, but the channel trailer didn't take too long to make and it does the job ^_^

I'm not too sure if they are worth it as I personally haven't ever subscribed to anyone due to their channel trailer. However, if you feel the need to advertise yourself further, then it would be an okay option, although a regular video could also do. I personally made one, and am not too sure if it was worth it...

For me channel trailers can get really annoying, playing over and over
Everyone has a different opinion, its up to you :)

I feel like it can go either way. If you just make a channel trailer very quickly for the sake of having one, its not going to be as effective as your most popular/recent video. On the other hand, if you work on it a lot it can end up being more effective. I've definitely had my impression of a channel soured by a bad channel trailer, so only make one if you're going to make it on par with everything else on your channel.

Yes, Channel Trailers are extremely useful! (For me anyway)
When I find a new channel, and I don't really know what they're about,
or what they're like, it's super useful just to be able to watch a 30 or so second
channel trailer, so I can get an idea of them before I subscribe.
I strong suggest using/making one.
Very worthwhile!

So I hear so many people saying how important it is to have a Channel Trailer, so I want to get some opinions on this.

What do you guys think about having one? Has it helped your channel in any significant way? What methods did you use to make it as effective as possible in convincing people to subscribe/stick around?

Any insight is welcome. All off topic comments shall be shunned. <3
I think they are particularly effective if you use them for the fan finder feature (which I think is restricted to people with over 1000 subs now, right?) A quick 30 sec - 1 min video is best if you can capture audience attention before their video starts. A good intro to what you are about.

Otherwise, I don't see any harm in using your most recent/popular video - since that's probably how people got to your channel in your first place. They will have some existing idea about the content of your channel because of that.
