Are Channel Trailers worth it?

So I hear so many people saying how important it is to have a Channel Trailer, so I want to get some opinions on this.

What do you guys think about having one? Has it helped your channel in any significant way? What methods did you use to make it as effective as possible in convincing people to subscribe/stick around?

Any insight is welcome. All off topic comments shall be shunned. <3

I'm pretty sure Markipliers channel trailer is what made me subscribe to his channel before I watched any of his major videos. They can make or break a channel but either way having a short video will help it get views. I look at it as a way to both promote the channel and a particular video I want to get more views on. I like to switch them around every now and then too just to get a few more views on certain views and keep it mixed up. I usually use a highlights video as well which seems to work the best for enticing me. For a gaming channel I'd personally avoid the 1s that sort of have the person explaining the channel like "on this channel you will see gaming content"........ all I can think is "Really!? I was expecting vlogs & animations, but games!?" lol

Well the one I'm using currently has a quick 5 second "Hey there new person, my name is Faptain Obvious and welcome to my channel" and then it's a montage of some of my funniest moments.

Maaan.. I started watching Markiplier when had about 50k I think. It's been a wild journey.

Yeah, I started when he was around 500k. And it was freaky how fast he blew up from there. Kind of makes me sad for alot of other YouTubers though, like Mr Sark who's only sitting at around 300k last I checked but his editing is pretty cool, he works well with sound effects and music, his little text pop ups inspired me to do the same pop up technique with some of my newer videos. I think I derailed a little lol But yeah, that 5 second thing is fine, like your normal introduction and that's it, I just don't like the trailers that have them constantly talking over the trailer, I want to see the stuff they've made put into a compilation not something they made just to talk about their channel. There's an about section for that lol

Im not a fan of them myself but I am pretty sure most people recommend using them as a chance to draw people in and encourage them to subscribe and watch more of your videos.
I've had situations where I've visited a channel multiple times to see some videos here and there, I got annoyed with the channel trailers popping up all the time that I subbed just to make it go away. I realised then that it has potential to be beneficial even if it annoys people xD
