Anyone YouTubing while suffering from Depression?

I Love YTtalk
I myself am battling Depression (major bipolar-ish depression), and because of this my motivation does not exist. It is so hard to get myself to make a video. I've actually missed two weeks so far. I really want to do this, I do. It's just so hard...

Anyone in the same boat? Could anyone give me some pointers on how YOU push through this?

I've always been a depressed person; most people can't tell until they REALLY get to know me. I have a great sense of humor and function well in society, but inside of my head is a constant battle. Fortunately I don't talk in most of my videos, so it doesn't leak through into my content much. I have another post though mentioning that my mind is so clouded lately I can't even think of things to do for videos lately. I think I haven't uploaded in a month or so because my mind is kind of fried and I don't feel like doing anything. It doesn't help that I have to work 19 days in a row, I'm on day 8 right now lol. 11 days to freedom!

First off, you should address the main issue first before worrying too much about the secondary issue. I finally realized that depression will make you focus on weird things. You need to find why you are depressed, find out how you got there, and find out a plan of action to be happy again.

Just don't pressure yourself, it will bleed through in your content. If you don't have the time or you're not in the mood, don't force it. If you're anything like me, if I forced something through and watched it and wasn't happy with it, I'd just feel even worse about myself and it would cause a chain reaction.

I do, yeah. My motivation comes and goes, which is why I'm trying to get into a schedule. You know what they say, discipline > motivation.
I'm trying to get myself on a schedule.. That's why I tried to start "music mondays". I really really need a routine in my life in general, so maybe when I get that in check, everything will fall into place[DOUBLEPOST=1463887334,1463886923][/DOUBLEPOST]

Damn! 19 days in a row? I wouldn't blame you for having a clouded mind!
and yeah I hide my Depression well around other people, but here at home I'm a wreck. My insides are like sgpiouhgepiuhgigruirguirfuirfiurfkojhgtiu.
I'm actually going to therapy and trying to work things out but there is A LOT. I wanted YouTube to kind of be my outlet. I went to school for musical theatre, and am pretty much an all around weird person in general, so I kind of wanted to make my own work (where I am there aren't very many opportunities to perform, and even if there are- I don't drive and my husband has work all the time) I guess that is a little stressful too. Like I said in another comment above, maybe if I get a routine in my life, everything else will fall into place. I would hope so.

Yes. I thought I was the only one! I suffered from deep depression last year, and that was about the same time I found my hobby of YouTube. For me, planning my videos, learning how to become a better editor was what kept me motivated to wake up for the next day. In a way, YouTube saved my life, and I'm grateful for the renewed interest it brought for me! :)

I'll see what happens, I think paying off my credit cards and taking away my drinking time may actually help. My next big step will be to stop my toxic drinking which is a bit out of control. It's kind of like Fat b*****d in Austin Powers: "I drink because I'm sad, I'm sad because I drink, it's a vicious cycle".

I had a job once I did 62 days straight sometimes double shifts in there. Then I got 1 day off worked 35 more days. Got 1 day off and worked 28 days then another 1 day off with 21 days of work after that. At that point the bosses stopped it as they didn't know what was going on and it broke the payroll budget

You are not alone. When I started YouTube I felt so sad because I find out I work a lot and use lots of time to record video and nobody wants to watch it then after while I stop recording.

I find out the solution for my weakness. The solution which really works! :p:p

I decided to pre-record and hold on publishing my videos. I pre-record more than 150 videos, and there is no depression on me now. I might still feel down sometimes, but when I see I have lots of video to upload the it gives me strength to go further.

I can't say that I have been battling with depression lately but I deal with a very rough time as of late. It came almost to the point of going crazy but because I have dealt with depression a few year earlier in a similar situation, I kinda in a way prevented myself from going further into it and change the situation that was causing me to feel that way in whoever way I could even if it wasn't the most logic or maybe even smart decision it helped to just remove myself from all the hurt.

I think youtube has been the only stable thing in my life this past year, and by vlogging about it on my channel and just being open and honest about it I got myself trough it together with the support of my subscribers who are amazingly supportive. It was scary putting it all out there but receiving all the messages on Youtube and even Twitter made it worth it to open up and connect with people who are going trough similar feelings and scenario's. I'm someone who hates secret's and is a pretty open book but I realized that people in real life have hard time dealing with someone who is sad and rather not talk about it and avoid to subject, online I realized the opposite and that helped me allot.

Hun stay strong and just try to put the energy that you do have to do something you enjoy or feel calm trough. Don't force yourself because when you do that it will only take more energy the next time... breaks aren't always bad sometimes their healthy!

xxx Hugs to you for me xxx

You're not alone, I've been depressed for a while now ever since I've moved away from my old home to a brand new country. But I ended up starting youtube and it's helped me so much. I never noticed it but ever since I started my girlfriend has said that my smile and positive attitude has come back and I generally feel a lot better. After I uploaded my first video I got tons of support and I decided to put myself on a schedule. So no matter what I upload once a week and I try something new with editing as much as I can. I know there can be days when you feel down and not motivated to do anything, but I think sticking to a schedule can really help and if youtube is really something you enjoy doing and you keep doing it, you'll get through it
