Anyone start working on their "new" channel banner yet?

hey yano what thats actually a rlly good idea!
can't believe i never thought of that before! :D haha
i might just do that :) watch this space! :p hehe x
 
Quick questions about the banners:

1. what are the measurements for the banners (in pixels)?
2. will everyone be able to have links on their banners or will it still be partners?

The day it was announced, I saw someone say the 10th (which I just realized was today...), but I haven't been online that much all week and I logged on yesterday and saw people saying the 22nd. So I'm going to assume that's probably the day.

1. There's a template at yttalk.com/threads/new-youtube-banner-template-coming-february-2013-png-and-psd.35215/
2. As far as I know, everyone gets to have icons in the lower right corner linking to their website or social media accounts. I don't think there are any "partner only" features currently known at the moment.

I'm fairly indifferent about this new design (it'll likely change before the year's out anyway) but I will say I think it's a shame they're scrapping partner features. There should be some kind of monetised partner features and then further some network partner features. People work hard to get to that point, so there should be something they can show for it somewhere.

Exactly. I feel the same way. The design change itself really doesn't bother me. But having started off our channel a year ago with the hopes of getting "partnered" and working really hard to get the partner banner to look like one of the big guys, we enjoyed having something to work forwards and aspire to achieve. Now that it's gone, there isn't really that drive there anymore. Obviously, it comes down to the videos in the end. And I always remember that 40% (Yes 40%!) of our views come from mobile devices and will never see our shiny new partner banner. But now with the new design, they will be able see our new one.
