I still found it too quiet even at a slight distance - maybe it was just my settings or something though as its rated pretty highly!!

A lot bigger then I expected though!

The problem with the snowball generally is more a "hollow" quality issue. It's not bad, but with the minor price difference between it and the Yeti or AT2020, the upgrade path is pretty clear.

I didn't ever try the Yeti, it kinda put me off of the range, which is silly I guess.
For my uses though I think the lapel is better, as I'm not doing voice overs or commentaries etc.
