Anyone ever get the itch to start a second channel?

I know the arguments against multiple channels (I've made several toward other people) like branding and spreading your audience thin but I don't know ... I kind of see the appeal sometimes. If only as a challenge if nothing else.

For a long time now I've wanted to have a series where I talk about the history of comics and do reviews but it never fit with my channel. I sort of just wrote it off but every once in a while it pops back into my head and I want to do a video on comics or something geeky.

I've learned so much in the year plus I've been doing Youtube and I think sometimes (like today) about if I had known what I know now about SEO, promotion, etc. back in the beginning if the journey would have been different.

Anyone else feel that way at times?
 
Of course. The more the better. Whoever thinks keeping yourself to one channel will be the best strategy may only be halfway right. The end goal should be to have multiple channels and hopefully a new one each month, and all should have quality content. All you'd need to do is control the teams of people working on each one and you're well on your way to making millions. A lot of the bigger YouTubers out there have at least 3-4 large channels, if not more. When you first start out though, a backup is always nice. You never know..

Yeah I've always thought about this. For me, I've done so many different vids on my channel its hard for me to break it up. Reason being it all fits. It's totally normal though. I say you should def make that comics vid no matter what you decide (:

Thanks, man. :) I'll probably at least write a script or two for the slush pile, but I don't know if I'll pull the trigger on a new channel or not.
 
It's pretty much extra work for no payout when you're under 10k. I see so many small Youtubers try to balance 2 channels and every single one has failed miserably. Focus on growing one channel and once you're larger and think you can create a second and be able to keep up both, go for it.
 
I did but never got to it, honestly. I have a channel called "thehybridmuscle" which was about fitness training multiple components rather than just one. I started making videos over overcoming depression, anxiety, eating disorders, etc (stuff I actually overcame) and always debated on putting it on another channel. Then again could use the term "hybrid muscle" to define strengthening your mind and body lol. Just trying to find a way to make it work.

if you have content that is completely different from your current channel, it would make logical sense to do another channel. I wouldn't see it as a problem. for example, if your into animation but also politics, that would clash so a second channel would make sense. it will just require more work.
