Anyone else sick of people asking for sub for sub?

I think it's viewed as acceptable for gamers because in order to look "legitimate" they need those huge sub numbers... even if their view numbers are in the double digits.

I remember a few gamers posting about how, "I have no problem subbing to someone with over 1000 subs, but if they have under 500, I wouldn't do it."

Nothing about the content of the channel or the quality of the videos lol. There's this odd obsession to reach a certain sub number so that others will take you seriously. I don't find it quite the same with other genres.
This is why usually when you have over 5k subscribers, you really don't have to promote as much, since your channel will carry itself.

Yeah. That's mostly the reason people with big channels get bigger. Because they have a big sub rate which somehow attracts others to sub to them...kinda weird. That was my hunch as well to why many people wanna do sub4sub. So people will think your popular or something.

I have never gotten a sub for sub request, but I imagine the only benefit of them doing it is just so that their channel looks bigger and more "active" rather than small. I do however occasionally get check out xyz video requests, but that was many years ago...

There's a few other things to, some say that with a larger sub base you will get on related channels more or that your videos will be higher up on the SEO? I don't know if any of that has any truth behind it.

I can see why having an inflated sub base will look dumb, but I can also see how it can only give your more views at the same time. That's why I don't hate on people that ask for sub4sub, it's a legitimate marketing ploy and if they are willing to be looked down on by everyone else, then that's their choice.

Also if I wasn't clear on this, I will not accept sub4sub myself.

Lmao zesty.. yeah sub for sub is situated around gamers mostly I'd say! just gamers trying to make it as a big shot and not doing it for the enjoyment really!

i dont know whats the point fo sub for sub, because it wont help at all...
Like I said earlier, for gaming channels, from what I hear people will actually not bother to look at your videos if you have less than a thousand subs. No matter how high quality it is. It's very odd, but there's a mentality there.

So breaking that initial 1k gate can open doors for you.

if your at 1k subs then you need to subxsub because the subs will come itself..

Ahh its so frustrating, I have even got a video saying DON'T do sub for sub, on my channel...

Yet people still come and constantly inbox asking for sub for sub, its frustrating as hell.. I don't know what these people are trying to achieve from it, fame? money? its completely greedy and down right selfish in my opinion!

They subscribe to me, next minute because I wont subscribe back purely because I hardly watch anyone on YouTube they will un-subscribe, its a bit selfish trying to seek the fast way to fame if I'm honest! what happened to people posting content purely because they love it? RANT OVER haha.
