Anyone Edit on a Apple Mac Laptop?

What would you recommend from an Apple perspective? Also, I am slightly worried that with WWDC coming nearer, that there could be a change in MacBook configuration, so I would rather buy the latest and greatest. 4k for me is not needed, however I do agree that having the ability to render in 1080p and 4k is very much advantageous. My only 4k Camera is a Hero 4 Black at the moment. So it would definitely be "nice to have".[DOUBLEPOST=1464684677,1464684629][/DOUBLEPOST]

My videos are usually anywhere between 3-15 minutes haha. I do export in 1080p. Except you export the faster way instead of best quality because the file difference is crazy. The faster way will be like 1.3Gigs and puts it in an .mp4 format and the best quality is like 19gigs and puts it in a .mov format.

Is the faster way still great quality to watch on YouTube?

I prefer PC, but when my computer broke I had to go to the library to edit my videos. The library has all Apple computers. At first I felt lost because I had no idea how to use a Mac, or the editing software on it. But after a month of using it. I actually liked it, I still prefer PC but Apple is a good backup.

Hi Julius can I ask what sort of Mac you have? Also, do you use Final Cut Pro

Oh yea, if you want to check the quality, watch a video of mine. I use a GoPro so the quality of that is superb. But it still uploads in 1080p and looks crisp and clear! Sound quality is still really good as well![/QUOTE]

I have an early 2015 model macbook pro.
Intel Core i5 @ 2.7GHz
8 Gigs of Ram
128 Gig SSD w/ 1 TB external drive.

I do not own a mac book but all I know is that they are effective editing machines!
Programs are designed for these Macs, making a sub-par processor as powerful as one of the best! Final Cut Pro has many capabilities, it is basically a grown up IMovie
If you are going to get a MacBook Pro, Wait till WWDC 2016 (This June), as it will contain the latest tech!

I made the switch from PC to Mac last year and haven't regret it one bit! I use a Macbook Pro at home for my own videos and use Premiere Pro. I use a Mac at work and use both Premiere and Final Cut. Both are great editing suites with their own pros and cons. With my PC I was working with Vegas and found it really easy to switch over to Premiere Pro. Final Cut has a bit of a different workspace that took me a while to wrap my head around, but now I think I like it better (plus you don't have to switch between programs to do different things like you do with Adobe).

Morning, thanks very much. I come from SVP at the mo, so I know its a bit of a change moving to a new product. Can I get an idea what sort of specs you have on the Mac, and how long it takes to render a video (Was watching yours now!).
