Any tips or tricks for someone new ?

Hi guys,

Am new to the whole youtube scene, been a gamer all my life but only watched vids, i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to improve my channel, such as how to make a good banner and the design of my channel.

A good banner does not need to be made through artwork that is handdrawn, you can simply use paint and make something pleasing to the eye. Otherwise you also have web browser tools such as Pixlr.com which may not be as extensive as Adobe's software, but certainly sufficient to make something to catch the eye.

You could, for instance, use in-game sources and edit them by removing backgrounds with Pixlr, and then place several elements together in your own little creation to form a good banner. Then you find a good background. Be aware that colour contrasts are important. That is my best tip, at least. From a freeware point of view.
 
You are welcome. If you wonder how you might make such a banner by using that method, you can simply google a bit and learn how to use the magic wand tool in Pixlr, however I assumed that you had previous experience with the magic wand tool from another piece of software. It is easy to find. There are even browser services that exclusively focus on removing backgrounds. An example is Clippingmagic.com, for instance.
