Any advice on slow upload speeds?

I've Got It
So I'm currently uploading a video and it's taking hours (as in estimated time to upload is 1000 minutes :/ )
Is there any way to lower the upload speed without losing video quality/length? Or does anyone have any tips on how to format/transcode videos for faster uploads? I did some googling and saw that a lot of people have this problem, and that it could be because YouTube servers are constantly processing content, but other than just wait around what do other people do to deal with slow uploads?
 
If you're uploading a video with a MBPS of higher than 8, you might as well compress the video down to around 6-8MBPS as youtube compresses the video after upload anyways. This will obviously make the file size smaller and you shouldn't lose any quality on the youtube upload as it would be compressed anyways.
 
I mean, I know that violence is always the answer, but in this case I'm not entirely sure what I'd be punching

And lol, yeah compressing isn't really an option - I'm fetishistic about video quality and would rather wait for the marathon upload I guess[DOUBLEPOST=1394755343,1394755258][/DOUBLEPOST]Video is 11 minutes - how do I check what the MBPS is?

Well, use handbrake and run it through that. Don't even have to mess with the settings, just install it, run your video through it. It'll compress without taking down ANY of the quality AT ALL, and you'll be fine.
 
Question, you don't happen to upload 1080p video, do you? I used to upload in 1080p, but it would always take way too long to upload, like what you have. Then I switched to 720p, now it takes only a few hours, more or less.

It's actually not taking as long as it's saying it will, if that makes sense? Like it only takes a minute for the estimate to go down by 10 minutes, but still is ridiculaa-aaas

Although on the other hand it's free video hosting so whaddya expect I guess
