Any advice on promoting videos on twitter/tumblr/reddit?

I'm not very good at promoting my videos it seems. I made three this month and they all sit at under 50 views. I think the content I make is good, I'm just wondering if there is a way to promote videos on external sites like twitter/reddit/tumblr that I might be missing out on. Also would love tips on how to make promoting less pushy and rude.

Thanks guys! :)

There are facebook pages and groups where you can promote your channel. You can always post your links on reddit and 9gagtv but there is no hope from them bcz they would approve videos with higher views. So I think facebook is convenient :)

Do you know the names of some of the Facebook groups so I can search them? :)
well yeah but you better read their rules, one group says YOU CAN PROMOTE THE CHANNEL BUT YOU SHOULD SAY SOMETHING FOR THE VIDEO, "CHECKOUT MY VIDEO" "SUB TO MY CHANNEL", these posts wont be approved.
Im gonna inbox u the links in ur youtube messages :)

I have been posting on every social media site I use, ex. (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, and even Instagram) I feel that it is helping. I have one video with over 250 views but the other are anywhere from 40-90

Well I do dog videos a lot, so I find dog pages on Tumblr/Facebook/ or other places that seem to get a lot of traffic. When something is good enough to be shareworthy in my opinion, I post in these places. If a mod of the page reposts your video, then everybody who comes through that page can potentially click your video. I've even found one page that will post my shirts on their page and has helped me sell over a hundred without any paid advertising. As I always say, experiment and find what works for you.

I honestly wouldn´t recommend FB groups, forums or any kind of website whose purpose is to promote links. In those kind of websites and groups you will mostly find people who want to promote them and don´t give much of a damn about anybody else´s videos. You aren´t going to build any kind of fan base out of those places, including this forum. This is all about "me, me, me", not "you, you you".

In all actuality these sites will help get you some views and maybe a few subscribers here and there. What I found is just make the best content you possibly can because it is possible for one random video to go semi-viral. I feel like most of these forums/groups as someone said already is really just about other people posting their content rather than anyone trying to help other people. From my experience I might have gotten like 20 more views per post on a site but that's about it.

I have over 382k views just from embedded players on other sites. About half of those started from me posting to different facebook pages, then people spread the videos out. The best result is if the admin of the page reposts, then all of the people who like/follow the page have the potential to see it. It only works this way when something is really good though; some of my videos maybe get around 50 views max if they are just decent, but I've had a few spread quickly and gain thousands of views a day for a couple days, all starting from a single post. As I always say on post like this, EXPERIMENT! I saw a Spanish site pop up in my analytics and it has a submit button... Guess where this sudden little spike in views came from a couple days after I submitted? Check your playback locations, embedded players on other sites. A lot of times I'll see something pop up and I can track down where it was posted, I've found quite a few places that will share videos that I send to them.
