So I have all of these messages on my facebook page that I made for my viewers to receive updates. And way I have been receiving messages from people;
- Demanding my phone number
- Demanding I text them
- Telling me I am their "qween"
- Spamming me with hundreds of hearts
- Spamming me when I don't respond
- Asking me for my person facebook
- Asking me if we can meet
- Marriage proposals
- Getting angry if I don't respond.
I have one message and only one message where this hasn't happened. The rest is filled with this stuff. How do you guys deal with fans like this? Do you respond? Do you not? Is this normal?
I'm so sorry you have to deal with that kind of treatment! I get similar messages, but on my actual personal Facebook account.
For the fans who are getting ridiculous, you can ban them from your page if you deem it necessary - although give them a written warning before you do. It looks better on you and you'd be amazed at how many people have literally no idea how creepy and/or aggressive they're coming across.
You're not under any obligation to reply to these people - but if it does start to wear on your conscience a little, I'd recommend posting a status update thanking people for their support, but due to the volume of messages you've been receiving, you can't reply to all of them.
This doesn't make you a bad person and some will take the hint - others, not so much. That's just the way people are gonna be, annoyingly! I can't imagine the biggest YouTubers have time to wade through all the messages they receive on Facebook, so you're not alone.
Oh! Another thing I neglected to mention - I don't know if this applies to every type of Facebook page or just business-oriented ones, but there should be an option somewhere to include a default reply that all your messengers will receive the moment they try to contact you.
It could be than that you thank them for taking the time to message you, but due to the sheer volume of messages you've been receiving, you might not be able to reply.
