I've been gathering up a lot of information on what I should be doing to try to get my videos easier to find in searches and such, to try to get them more views. As it is, I do video game commentaries, mostly for entire video games, and I want to keep an entire playthrough to be consistent overall, so I'm not changing anything until I start the next series.
From the information I've gathered, I know I should start doing the following:
-Adding a specific description to the title. For example, instead of just calling something: "Paper Mario Playthrough Part 43", I would call it something like "Paper Mario Playthrough, Part 43: Huff N. Puff Battle", or something like that, that references specifically what happens in the video.
-Add more details to the descriptions, like with the title, it shouldn't just have the number to differentiate it from other parts of the series, the description should have some details about the contents of that specific video.
-Make custom thumbnails, I don't know how good I could be at making these in a reasonable amount of time, but I'll give it a shot.
-Add specific tags, instead of making every word it's own tag, like I think I do because it used to be the only option, I should make some tags that are phrases, and stuff like that.
-Add annotations linking to the previous and next part of the video, even though I keep a playlist now for the convenience of finding the other videos, I've read that having annotations like this can help your video rank higher in searches.
-Share the videos on other websites, even if they don't get seen on the places I'm sharing them, I read that it can help the search rankings anyway.
And I think that's everything I've picked up from reading around here. So I've picked up a nice handful of tips, but I'm wondering if I'm missing anything else.
