Am I making a mistake?

Maybe every few months or if you get bored of the current medium change up everything. So for a couple months maybe your theme and videos will be of a different style. You'll also be able to divide the style in a different playlist or something. Display those sections at the top of your channel so it will match with your current theme.

Thats a good idea! I wouldn't even need an exact time frame for each one either, just whenever I get bored of one.

I personally like that, but as someone who has a black and white blog, I know from experience it can drive a lot of people away. In the same retrospect, having consistency is something that draws people in. I think a happy medium might be picking 2-5 filters and alternating them occasionally, maybe by more the feel of the song. Emma Campbell does a similar thing (she's a youtube musician as well) where she'll pick from about 4 different filters for all of her videos. I've been following her for a long time and I think that it's a happy medium between no filters and the same repeatedly. :)

Don't sell out your personal style, it's a nice aesthetic, and people who enjoy your music and your noir-ish black and white look will stick around.

Agreed. Do what best serves your music and your aesthetic, not what's best for getting viewers. In the long run, you'll be happier that you created things you believe in. You'll never please everyone, but if you change what you do just to attract more people, your current followers will notice.

I wouldn't worry to much about continuity, though. Your aesthetic goes way beyond the color scheme even if it's tough to see that yourself. From an outside perspective, you have a lot of good things that make up your overall voice. You won't lose yourself by evolving.

So by all means, try something new and experiment, but do it for the right reasons. (I like the black and white, by the way.)
