Think you could give my channel a look over? I could really use some feedback right now, and I'm pretty sure all my friends are just going to try to be nice and not say anything that's... well... honest. Thanks if you do decide to check my stuff out!

@TalkFandomToMe

It took me a while to figure out what your channel was about but I now understand what it is you're doing. It's an interesting concept - taking comics and dubbing voices on top of them. So far your channel is nothing but dubbing comics based around Undertale. Eventually it'll get tiresome for your viewers so you should consider widening your scope into not only other fan communities but to original comic creators too.

Part of the reason it took me so long to understand your channel is that there's nothing at all that describes what it is your channel offers. Your avatar and channel header are anime images and the thumbnails are simple screenshots from the videos/comics themselves. A brief line of text in your channel header, such as "Dubbing Everything!" as an example, can go a long way in solidifying your brand. A logo that you can incorporate into your thumbnails will also help.

If I were to ignore all of that, your biggest issue currently is your vocal quality. I can hear a lot of pops, breaths and plosives creeping through your audio. It's also mixed quite low so it's a little hard to hear at times. Save up some cash and invest in a pop filter and if you don't own one, also consider investing in a high quality condenser microphone. It'll give your vocals a cleaner sound.

Good luck with your channel.

@Redberd36

Let's start with your thumbnails; they're pretty darn good! They're all well designed, especially the 'Sonic Lost World' thumbnail as you've done your best to use the same typeface, style and overall colour used in the game. What they're all missing is a logo, like the one in your YTTalk avatar, in one of the corners to let potential viewers know the content belongs to your channel. I'm not much of a fan of the 'Kratos Is Dead' thumbnail as the colours don't match that well. Using Red and White like the colour of Kratos' skin might look better.

Content wise, the audio in your videos is all over the place. In your 'Quick Final Thoughts On Family Guy' video, your audio sounds muddy, unclear and I can hear breaths seeping through the audio. In your 'Naughty Bear Quick Review' the audio actually sounds decent, except the points where you're recording on camera as you're using on camera audio. If your channel needs anything at the moment it's better audio mixing, especially for your let's plays. Make this your number one priority.

Your YTTalk avatar image and colours should serve as the basis of your channel branding. Incorporate it into your avatar and channel header and find a nice typeface to complement the style of that logo design. It'll make everything look cohesive.

Other than that, keep a regular upload schedule, have fun doing this and good luck with your channel.

Likewise, mods deleted my original post too!? Will ask again! Would love for your expertise on my channel! Really tough to critique when it's just me, myself and I so, please, be honest. No sugar coat :) Thank you very much!

Fairly new and I understand I need improvement in a lot of areas, just need suggestions for what is good and bad

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely work on that stuff. As for the audio quality, that's kind of out of my hands since I don't have money to buy stuff, but I'll try to work things out. Lemonade stand maybe? Haha, just kidding. :p

That "Dubbing Everything" slogan is pretty good. I wanna try to expand what comics I dub so far but I dunno how my viewers will like that, maybe I'll make a video asking them. And now's the time I wish I knew how to use Photoshop (or how to get enough money to buy it for that matter) or really use any program to make thumbnails and gfx.

@TheFantasticMrVox

You have great talent, my friend; good guitar skills and a wonderful voice. It's also great to see you showcasing your song writing skills by showing off your original songs.

Everything about your 'brand' needs work. You have an avatar and thumbnails that are photos and screencaps from the videos respectively. What does that tell viewers about the music you create? A big part of YouTube, no matter what kind of talent you have, is all about selling yourself to your potential viewers. Give them reasons to look at what you have an maybe stick around.

Think about a font/typeface, colours and a particular style that you feel represents you perfectly. Incorporate those into all your art assets - chanel header, thumbnails, even within the videos themselves. It gives off an impression of cohesion and a sense of familiarity to your viewers. If you haven't got the time or the skill required to make art assets, you should team up with a graphic designer. Better still, make a post here on YTTalk and see if anyone will be willing to help.

From a content perspective, I've already mentioned that you have good guitar skills and a wonderful voice. What I didn't mention is how the on camera audio isn't doing it justice. You should think about getting at least 2 microphones - one to record your guitar and one to record your voice. From there, you'll need an audio interface to hook up both mics to your computer. I personally recommend the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 for this.

The problem of course is that this gets incredibly expensive astoundingly fast. You need to work out whether or not you have the budget for it and if so, what should be your first priority when making a purchasing decision. If you can't afford or have no time to save up some cash due to bills, stick with what you have now and just work on your branding. If you can afford it, seriously consider making some investments in higher quality equipment to do justice to your musical ability.

Good luck with your channel and I look forward to hearing more original songs!

@GIBOOOO

What you desperately need right now is a higher quality microphone. If you can, save up some cash and invest in a high quality condenser microphone to give a cleaner sound to your voice.

What you also need to work on is your audio mixing. In every single video except for your first one, your intro is extremely loud compared to your voice which is unbelievably soft. I had to crank up my speakers just to hear you speak.

You've also changed you logo sting with your latest video which is inconsistent with the intro from your previous videos and to your channel header and 'brand' as a whole. If you want to stick with the font/typeface, colours and overall style of that intro, make sure you apply that to your channel header and avatar.

You've got a decent number of subscribers for a months worth of work which you should be proud of. Keep at it!

@DivideAndConquer

The biggest issue with your channel has to do with your branding, more specifically your art assets. Content wise, you have a decent condenser microphone and a pop filter and the audio is mixed well for the most part. Looking at your channel header and thumbnails however, it doesn't reflect the quality of your videos and is actually doing your channel more harm then good.

Your logo and channel header while decent in concept was poorly executed. Line quality is terrible, colours are flat and the drawing itself doesn't mesh well at all with the pixellated font/typeface you're using. The photo of you and your missus is fine for the most part, except for the drop shadow which you need to dial back, but again it doesn't fit with everything you have currently.

In your 'About' section, you claim that 'Divide and Conquer' is a channel about a gamer couple and that point should be the focus of your entire brand. The photo of you and your missus is the perfect starting point. In that photo, both of you are wearing blue, so use blue as a central colour for your logo and font/typeface. If you do want to have some kind of unique art image, perhaps a caricature of that photo would suffice.

What ever you do, you need to make sure that the quality of your brand matches the quality of your work. As I've already mentioned, your current art assets are holding your channel back so you need to work on that as soon as possible.

@madison78

The branding you have at the moment works well, although you should incorporate the colours into your thumbnails and avatar.

Content wise, you need to save up and invest in a high quality condenser microphone or at least a shotgun microphone for your camera to give you a cleaner audio signal. You should also consider investing in a higher quality camera as the one you have now isn't great. At 720p quality it still looks subpar with a lot of noise and artifacting.

That's all the advice I can give to your channel at the moment, seeing as you only have 2 videos. As always, keep a regular upload schedule, good luck with your channel and have fun making content.
