Thanks for the suggestions! It helps a ton!
Just so you know though: Adsense, is the thing which allows for you to monetize videos, Adwords is the thing which allows you to make ads and have them be on other people's monetized videos. From what you've said thus far, it's "Adsense" which your channel is against using, not "Adwords".
If I'm wrong please correct me! Thanks again

@nmanclank

Don't worry, I won't hold back. :)

Your channel header design is minimalist yet very bold and striking. I like it. Your avatar and thumbnails need work though as it doesn't match with your branding or, to be honest, anything on your channel currently. Use the black chicken/c**k from your channel header as the basis of your logo and apply that within your thumbnails. For darker thumbnails, consider creating a 'white' varient of your logo.

The microphone you're using is positioned quite close to your mouth which is causing your audio mix to peak often. Try doing a few test recordings with the mic further away and consider adding a pop filter to it as well to knock out the plosives.

Overall your videos are entertaining but you need to work on the few issues I've mentioned. Good luck with your channel and have fun making videos!

@Pat Simmons

No, you're completely right. Honestly don't know why I confused the two but there we go. Thanks for the correction.

However, my point about ads still stands. What I forgot to mention in my post to you was that because the attention spans of individuals has dropped significantly and thus they want everything immediately, having any ads on any video are detrimental to them. Sitting through an unskippable ad, waiting for the 'Skip' button to become active or having an ad pop-up in the middle of a video is absolutely annoying. It's the reason why ad blocking plugins and programs exist.

The question I have to ask myself is if I do decide to use Adwords, how many people am I actually going to reach? Knowing a majority of internet users now have ad block plugins and programs installed, would all the money I spend on advertising go to waste? To be honest, considering how obnoxious advertising has been in the past (OH MY GAWD! NO WAAAAAAAAAY! [for those who remember that damn ad]), I honestly can't blame people for using ad blocking plugins and programs.

At the moment, the money I would spend on advertising would be better spent on working towards the future of the channel so that one day I can actually pay all the volunteers who have helped over the years. As I mentioned earlier, while the growth we have on the channel is slow, it shows me that those who have subscribed actually care about the content we make. I would rather have 87 subscribers who look forward to our videos over 100,000 who subscribed for the hell of it.

Thank you for prompting this discussion! These ideas haven't been shared outside of a select few people but it's good to converse about strategies and compare notes about how one could possibly succeed in this day and age on YouTube.

Honestly I can't thank you enough for doing this I really do appreciate the feedback. I'll be working on the things you pointed out and look into a pop filter

@Octa604

Your logo for your channel/brand is spot on! Good work on that. Thumbnails starting from 'Let's Play: Outlast Part 1' are simple but well designed, although you should consider adding in your stylised 'O' to ensure viewers know the videos are yours and to nail down your branding further.

Content wise, like many in this thread (and this post) you need to save up and invest in a condenser microphone and pop filter to give a cleaner and clearer sound. It'll also help add to the professionalism of your Twitch stream.

Keep it up and good luck!

Thanks for the feedback! I still think I need to make the logo a little better before I start to attach it to thumbnails, just minor adjustments though.

Ah yes, the microphone. I wish I hadn't spent $350 on this gaming headset and had gone with dedicated mic/headphone combo. But since I can't return the headset, I guess I'm buying a Blue Yeti anyways :p

Once again, thanks for the feedback!

@Boggen Bupis

Right off the bat your avatar, channel header and logo/heading font/typeface are excellent. Well done with that. However, using that same logo typeface for your thumbnails is an unwise decision. That typeface was designed for logos/headers and not for long strings of text.

On the topic of thumbnails, they've definitely improved since your earlier videos. What you need to consider is using your logo (EC) to ensure viewers who stumble upon your channel know the videos are yours and you need to design the thumbnails to make them consistent across each series of videos. Example: Have one style for your 'What if' series of videos and another completely different style for your 'Reviews' series. You also need to have your 'watermark' (bottom left logo that appears on screen) the same design as your logo/brand. Consistency is key.

Content wise, your videos need a lot of work. I know it's hard considering you're still going to school so what I'm going to suggest to you here is for your future. You don't (and shouldn't) need what I'm about to suggest right now but it's worth thinking about if you ever have plans of making a career out of your channel. First of all, you should never use on camera audio (the microphone that's built into your camera). It's great for run and gun, heat of the moment audio but it should never be used as a main audio source. It'll never have the quality or clarity that an external shotgun or condenser microphone can give you. When you save up enough money or have a job to afford it, get yourself a shotgun microphone (for your on camera videos) and for your voice over videos (reviews) invest in a condenser microphone.

Make sure your audio mixing is spot on. In your 'What if' series of videos and especially in your 'HOW TO MAKE THE BEST YOUTUBE VIDEO EVER' video, your voice comes in way to soft. I had to crank up my audio just to make sure I could hear your voice which is never a good sign. In your earlier videos you also used a logo sting. That logo sting audio (which sounds like copywritten music) is way too loud in comparison to your voice. Ensure that all your audio remains level so there's no major volume changes which can make listening uncomfortable.

For the videos where you (or your mates) appear on camera, consider investing in a tripod to knock out the massive amounts of shaking; that, or invest in a stabilising rig. The idea is that the further away your hands are from the camera, the more 'stable' your camera shots will look.

It's a decent start to your channel with the equipment you have on hand at the time. The more experience you have doing these videos the better you'll get. Having a job will also help finance some of the equipment neccessary to make your videos look professional. Remain persistent, have fun doing it and good luck.

Hey!

First post on the forum here, and I must say very kind of you to take time and give valuable feedback on everyone's videos.

My channel is about fashion and lifestyle; so far I've got 3 videos- every new video is a bit of a progress visually and content-wise.

I would greatly appreciate if you could give me feedback on my latest video: a hair tutorial for a hairstyle for which I think is the best of 2016.
