@Supergroundpound

Your branding is absolutely consistent - from your channel art, thumbnails, avatar and carrying it over to your videos themselves. Fantastic work!

Biggest issue for your channel at the moment is your microphone setup and there's a minor issue with the edits in some of your videos (mostly list videos). In your voice overs, I can hear a lot of plosives coming through your mic which tells me you either haven't got a pop filter or have the mic way too close to your face which negates the pop filter entirely. Invest in a pop filter for the microphone you use for your voice overs or keep the mic further away from your mouth.

For your videos where you have multiple people playing, you should consider investing in a mixer and 4 seperate microphones to capture audio equally. At the moment from what I can hear, 2 people are coming in relatively clear while the other 2 are incredibly soft. With 4 seperate microphones and a mixer, you can increase the gain for those who speak softly while lowering the gain for those who speak loudly, ensuring a consistent, level volume. This suggestion is entirely dependent on your budget.

As for the edits, the long periods of silence between sentences (most prominent in your "Our 10 Favourite Generation One Pokemon") has to go. I get that it's easier to record things line by line (most people do) but edit the audio in a way that it sounds natural. Have sentences flowing from one to the other. At the moment you have extremely long pauses between sentences which is not natural at all and makes the video boring to listen to.

Overall though you're definitely doing well. Work on the issues I've mentioned and your channel will grow.

@Gia Cavalli

Starting from your first video, your english is very good, you're using a lavalier/lapel microphone which is fantastic and the video is recorded in a high frame rate. Absolutely great start!

The videos have increased in quality as time has gone on in terms of lighting and editing. To be honest there really isn't anything I can advise you on for your videos. You and your boyfriend know exactly what to do and your channel is already seeing tremendous success after 3 months. Keep it up!

@JohnnyMaboy

The font/typeface you're using and the gradient you've treated it with is consistent across your channel header and thumbnails but not your avatar. Your thumbnails have definitely improved as time as gone on which is great to see.

Videos are well edited although your vocal audio is way to loud and of a low quality. You're using a headset microphone which is convenient but I suggest saving up and investing in a condenser microphone with a pop filter.

Audio is definitely holding your channel back. Clean up the quality of your voice overs and you should see some improvement with subscribers and view counts. Good luck!

@Klink Thank you for your kind words, I've always worried about my english and quality of the first videos, I even considered deleting them :) Now that you used them as a point to measure improvement, I think they are there to stay! Thank you again!

Greetings everyone! Although I am new to YTTalk I'll be more than happy to check out any of your channels and offer my advice and honest critiques about them. A fresh pair of eyes just might be what your channel needs.

There are no stirct guidelines. Your channel can be about anything, target any demographic and be of any size. I'll offer my constructive criticisms regarding content, branding, art or technical issues.

Shall we begin?

Hi There!

Could you check out my channel and give me a review? What do I do well? How can I be better?

<Stares deathly at your channel>

I think I stared too hard. Your channel link is broken in your profile and I can't seem to find it through the YouTube search, Google or other search engines. Post a direct link to your channel here and I'll make sure to get around to staring at it properly.

@Hellolabgroup

From your first video I was going to comment that your audio mixing was too low. That was fixed in subsequent videos which is great to hear. On the topic of audio, out of curiosity what microphone are you using? Definitely not a headset mic; the microphone on your webcam or laptop? [NINJA EDIT] Ok, so you're using a Blue Snowball microphone which is great. I couldn't tell because I could hear a few plosives coming though (sometimes blowing at the mic). I still suggest investing in a pop filter to prevent the few moments where plosives are audible.

In your second 'Wick' video you mentioned that you were playing on (and I assume capturing on) a Thinkpad. You also mentioned that you intend to upgrade in the future which is good to know. At the moment your laptop is stuggling to play games while capturing the footage at the same time which is causing quite a lot of lag in your videos. Having a high spec PC with large hard drive space (preferrably SSDs for playing games and capturing footage on normal HDDs) will solve most of the lag issues.

Branding is fairly consistent. Your channel art, avatar and logo sting all have the same font/typeface and treatment and you've used the art of yourself in your avatar and thumbnails.

Overall it's a fantastic start to your channel. I definitely love the long form videos although that varies between demographics (usually you'd find a 24-35 year old demographic prefers longer content while a younger, teenage audience prefers shorter videos). You've got over 130 subscribers for (realistically) 1 weeks' worth of content. That's amazing! Keep it up and I know your channel will succeed.

@Klink Thanks so much! I actually have a pop filter that I got with the snowball.... but i'm not sure how to use it/what it does? I feel like my audio always comes out wonky after I try to do the noise reduction on audacity. What are good settings to take out the noise hum? Also what other tricks are there to fix the sound of the audio?

Do you think my channel art needs to pop more or should I keep it as is?

Thanks for the help!!
