Airsoft Gun Orange Barrel By Law?

Hi there, so airsoft guns are used a lot as props in filmmaking and I was just wondering, by law do they need to have an orange tip? I understand for the safety reasons but I was wondering about that since I was thinking about getting one for prop use in my videos :)

Yes it does need to have an orange tip so no one mistakes it for a real gun. If it doesn't have a tip like a bb gun you need to tell someone or make sure you are in a place where no one with freak out. People have been shot by the police for having an airsoft gun or bb gun pretending to use it as a gun.

Ah ok, it's more for indoor use anyway :P The police in the UK don't get guns for some reason[DOUBLEPOST=1386894650][/DOUBLEPOST]
I use a BB pistol gun and it doesn't have an orange tip. (It's pretty damn realistic too.)
Try looking for these!
does it have a blowback barrel?

Depends on your local law concerning those things. Since it's the US and you can walk around with the real deal, I'd guess you are fine..
I bought my gas gun in France, had no orange tip, was 100 percent realistic and had blowback!

False, it depends on your local law though.

Incorrect. In order to get guns legally, there's a process you have to go through. At least where I'm from, if you don't have the orange tip, it's an illegal weapon. And even then, pointing a gun at a person may cause concern for onlookers.

As I said, depends on the local law, changes from place to place.

More or less depends on your local ordinance* as in your local police judgement, if they roll up on you aiming at someone yelling they will prob make you get down, explain it and you'd be good, just don't conceal it when walking to and from. Or get a slip on/off orange tip
