I see what you're saying, but the tutorials also include introductions to the basics of the program. You need that kind of foundation in order to know how to operate the program, what it's capable of, and how you can manipulate it in creative ways.I would recommend just playing around with effects and seeing what you can achieve. If you just stick to tutorials then you risk only learning how to do the effects that the tutorials are teaching rather than being able to create your own.
