K, I haven't actually really posted a lot on my channel yet, and I was wondering if there were any tips about how to overcome shyness, about recording with people around.

You mean recording with like other people in your video, or recording with other people around you while you're trying to record?

Other people around while recording.

Well, you just have to learn to ignore them. If it's your family, you have to lay down some boundaries for when you're recording. If it's in public, it's likely most people won't even bother you or give you a second glance. Just remember that other people have their own things to do, and will most likely not care what you yourself are doing.

Ok here's the thing with that. If you wait until you DON'T feel nervous, if you are trying to find a way to NOT feel nervous, you will never vlog. The only way to do it is to just do it WHILE nervous. And continue to do it while nervous. The only thing that makes these nerves go away is doing what you're afraid to do until it's not scary, and it's not easy, but it's just what must be done.

if you wanna be yourself on camera, be yourself In real life first? only advice i can give without sounding preechy.

Well yeah I mean, if you can't step outside your comfort zone in real life it won't be any different when the camera is on. To me youtube is kind of a platform for emotional skydiving. It will make you a better person in the end, but you gotta jump out of that plane, and it WILL be scary. The more times you do it and survive, the more willingly you'll jump next time.

just act like you're talking to a friend in everyday life...that gets you over the shyness and will help you show through on the camera
