Advice for Baking/DIY channel

I Love YTtalk
I noticed there are a lot of people on this forum that are gamers.......where are the non-gamers at? lol My channel is about testing different recipes and DIY projects. I was looking to hear from people in my same category for their advice on promoting their channel.

Reddit is a great website that has a community for everything, you might want to see if there are cooking and DIY subreddits on there. The website isn't the most easiest site to understand but it has a huge audience.

A lot of my viewers and subscribers have come from reddit :)

Edit: I've just checked and there are absolutely tons of cooking subreddits.

With quick google search I've also found some cooking and DIY forums.

hahaha yes i see that you are everywhere but still thanks for your advice. I'm glad you brought up reddit. I tried out yesterday and havent seen anything. Let me know if I did it right. So pretty much I chose a subreddit and posted my video on there and "flaired" it and added a comment. All i can see now is that it generated 3 upvotes. Is that it? or am i supposed to do something else to get more upvotes?
 
You've done everything right, you just have to wait to see if you get any comments. Also, you can't see how many people have looked at your post but upvotes will help attract more views. I always try and ask a question when I post something so that it'll encourage people to comment on the post and start a conversation with the people there.

Reddit is a lot like this forum in the sense that you have to put the time in to become popular among the people there. There are a lot of people who post and run, as long as you stick around and comment on other posts it'll attract people to yours :)

Interesting thanks for the tips! I was kinda discouraged try it again but I'll have to give it a better shot!
 
Perhaps find a target audience and cater (pun intended) to what you believe is relevant to them.
