Advertising No-No's

I know a lot about YouTube etiquette, and some of the big no-no's about promoting like comments "I know no one will read this but ...", and spamming other people's channel. But what are the thoughs on pm's. Is it bad to message people on youtube and let them know about your videos.

When thinking about stuff like this, I usually apply the mindset of "would this something I be annoyed by" or "would this be something I'd be interested in? But there are times when i'm both interested and annoyed by messages that promote their videos.

I subscribed to a guy that sent me a pm about his channel but his channel was actually good

for me.. you better at least be a sub of mines and have at least commented on a video or two.. dont just randomly video bomb me.. Aint nobody got time for that..

Yeah, I consider almost all PM's spam, def. not a good place to start. Video responses are much better and can drive relevant traffic to your page/
