I have Pro, as well as Premiere Elements 10 and 11. If you are new to Premiere, I would suggest Elements. The reason why, is that Elements is much less complicated, and has a shorter learning curve. In Elements you can mostly just drag and drop, and with Pro, it is basically drag and drop but more advanced functions, more complicated workspace, and is more for the high level video editor. If you just want to edit videos for YT, you will do just fine with Elements. You will be able to put in transitions, titles, many basic special effects, greenscreen, basic colour correction, basic audio cleanup and enhancement, etc.Has anyone used Premiere Elements? Im curious about the differences between that and Pro. I know Pro prolly has a billion extra features, but like what is made easier in Elements and what advanced editing CANT you do in Elements?
Elements is also much less expensive. You can usually find older versions for under $50, where Pro is going to cost much more. If you really are serious about editing, you might want to consider Adobe Creative Suite which is a set of editing programs on steroids. It includes Pro as well as After Effects for very advanced special effects and motion graphics.
