ADOBE PREMIERE PRO IS MAKING ME MAD!

Wow, that's a lot.

hate how the current trend for software is to charge monthly subscription fees. You don't actually own anything so when you stop paying you've got a load of files you can't do anything with. Whatever happened to software companies selling you the software?
Yeah, wow. I didn't think it would cost so much. I hate the idea of all software just being licensed instead of owned.

3 things
1) People with too much money or people who are too used to not paying for things outright (commonly high credit card users) who support the business model which is sadly a fair few people these days.
2) the companies think it's helping with piracy, because it's DRM without people realising.
3) they can make more money off people this way because it's almost pure GP and they can cut out more middle men.
Even Microsoft don't give discs with Office 2016 now.

It's eventually going to be the new norm sadly. This is why I don't pay for things like PS+ or Xbox Live Gold, I'll never ever be supportive of a business model that requires me to pay to play a game over the internet with a friend who lives in the same city as me.

I agree with both of you. I really hate this business model as a user. I mean $50 a month ?! So after 3 years, you've spent $1800 on it and you still don't own anything! As soon as you stop paying, you have a bunch of files in a bespoke file type that only their software can edit. It's racketeering.

I run a couple of websites and nearly every piece of software I need has the same model. The monthly fees very quickly add up.

Life is slowly reaching a point where the things we think we own are a privilege and not enough people are waking up to it. I mean yeah fair enough you get the most up to date software the moment it's updated but for something like Adobe, I just need to buy it and use it, I pay for my internet connection already which is meant to be used to update the software I buy to begin with. It's bills after bills now. I'm even fairly against things like Netflix but only to some extent and it's a little bit more subjective in that area. If I was paying as I was using, different story, now that I could (hesitantly) get on board with.

To remain somewhat on topic, I use Handbrake to do all my file conversions, sync issues only happen on Premiere if the frame rates are usually off, I find 59.94 has a higher chance of causing problems as opposed to a flat 60. Every video I record I usually put through handbrake. A good key indicator that I use though is that when I add a raw video to the project manager (the box that lists all your bins, videos, audio etc...) I check the time section, if it shows a colon : then it's usually fine but if it shows a semicolon ; then it's most likely going to be out of sync.

Hey, not sure if anyone mentioned this or not yet, but I've been using premiere for a long long time, and this was always so frustrating, BUT I think this is a quick fix.

Right click the file that doesn't sync and select "INTERPRET FOOTAGE"

It should sync it up for you!

Here's the pricing list for Creative Suite 6. Adobe CC at the $50 a month is everything Adobe makes, which is basically the Master Collection. Master Collection is $2,600.

Beyond that, Adobe CC is on for $40 a month for Black Friday.

I don't like the idea of licensing software in this way either, but claiming that Adobe CC is bad value is wrong.

Edited to add: I use CC myself and have for a while. One thing that I will say is that Adobe did their homework on it. It's a beautifully designed system that handles everything for you including online sync, programs working together, updates and whatnot. It is quite elegant. And I'd expect nothing less for $50 a month. :P

If the program is not free I do not know anything about it. But I would be mad I spent money for that to say the least.

Reinstalled Windows because I use premiere so much it works now :)[DOUBLEPOST=1447833189,1447833107][/DOUBLEPOST]

What's really nice is that when you are a student, you get the student discount forever. (As of today)[DOUBLEPOST=1447833648][/DOUBLEPOST]

Same. I'm subscribed to a lot of things and what businesses need to get is that they have this subscription thing that they THINK will get them more money but it won't because more people will buy their software at a higher price of it's one time.
