Adobe premier slow?

i used a laptop running win7, i3 processor with 4gb ram.. I created a video last night which was only about 3 minutes long and it was extremely slow, rendered in poor quality and was just generally not an enjoyable experience. I ended up editing in iMovie on my phone and got a much better result in less time.

I used to edit on my Mac will final cut and had no issues..

Will Sony Vegas run smoother? Or can anybody recommend a fairly lightweight program?

I use premier pro as well and from time to time it can be slow and irritating but I would recomment it over vegas anyday! Just make sure you have it all sety up properly such as cache files going to a fast drive and your ram setup properly in the settings. If you google how to optimise premier pro you should find some good tutorials to help you! I hope this helped buddy~!
