Adobe Elements 15 choppy playback

Anyone have this issue, when you're editing the playback is choppy and you have to pause the playback and restart it to watch the video? I've tried everything. Sometimes its bearable and other times is just plain time consuming.

Yes I have come across this, I'm not sure why it is happening, but it only happens every now and then.

In my case I have the project and scratch disks as the same, so it's trying to do everything on the one disk, in the future I will be putting more SSD drives into my PC and use one as the scratch disk, so this might fix this.

There might be something in one of the Adobe forums on it, do a Google search and see if there is a solution.
