Allos all, I really need your opinions. It's a slightly long post, but I would be so grateful for your input.
I have been beating my brain trying to figure out what I want to do in terms of purchasing software.
Currently I run most of my work off of Sony Vegas Pro 12. I'm very familiar with the program and can fly through it in my workflow, but it's a very crash happy program and can be fairly sluggish at times, enough to where I'm wanting to shift away from it. I've tried out some of the Video Editing products from Adobe, and they run so much smoother.
I've been looking extensively into the Adobe Products. The way it looks there are two models out right now for purchase. CS6 and CC (Creative Cloud)
With CS6 you get a perpetual license, but will no longer receive any upgrades. Adobe is no longer release Creative Suites.
With CC you pay for a subscription that eventually runs out.
I am currently a student in my last semester of college (so my time to get those sexy student discounts is running out) and I'm really struggling with what to purchase.
I can get CS6 Production Premium (Includes PPro, After Effects, Speed Grade, PS Extended, Illiustrator, Encore, Audition) for $550 USD and never have to pay again, but I'm also never going to receive upgrades.
I can get CC for $200 (Includes all programs and latest updates/fixes) for the first 14 months, but then after that, my best option is the 50$ a month
I guess I'm just looking for opinions from people that have worked with both as to what you would recommend in my situation.
After nearly 21 months I would finally be at the cost of buying CS6, but then I would not have received any updates on the product during that time (Nearly Two full years), and never will unless I end up paying for CC anyway. However, If I get CS6, I don't have to worry about not being able to use my project files once the subscription wears off.
TL: DR, for people who have used Adobe CC and Adobe CS6, give me your opinion pretty please
