Adobe After Effects CS5

Kuchiki Byakuya!
I have no clue where to even begin with this new program. The possibilities seem endless but I'm looking for a little more oomph. Maybe someone can tell me here or link me to some pretty basic tutorial vids, such as starting a new project etc.

While I wait, I'll be making something to nom on brb. and post away

I have After Effects as well. It is such a confusing program. It isn't something that you can just fumble around and figure out as you go (which is pretty much how I learned on Premiere). I think there are some tutorial sites, but you have to pay to get access to them. I don't have the links, because I am sitting here at work typing this. If I find them later I can forward you them. I still haven't signed up yet. However, I have found some pretty helpful tips on youtube. If you know what effect you are looking to create, just search youtube. I really haven't jumped into it yet, but sooner or later, I am going to have to step up my editing game.

When I get home, I will look for the links that have been recommended to me and post on this thread.

Yeah, I've always used sony vegas to edit my videos. Sony vegas was a program that after a few short hours i could jump in there and boom know exactly what I wanted to do and where i needed to go. In this program though, it looks quite similar to sony vegas, but it's so different in many ways lol I've searched youtube for a few basic tutorials, but even those are a little to advanced lol

well if it isnt my hacker buddy XD i joke and if you want good tutorials id say the reading ones can be better than vids step by step is always helpfull in full details :)

Hmm, well I;ve have always loved to read. I'm taking this to the g... (Google) lol

Aetutsplus have lots of free tutorials, as do video copiolit, and creative cow.. all these websites i used to learn after effects, which i use hardcore in my vfx videos :p

Awesome, to bad I just quite video editing I suppose I could use it to make an intro though >_>

I would definitely use Video Copilot for there AE tutorials if you ever get back into it. I know they are very in depth and easy to follow for beginners.

Agreed, but be aware that a lot of video copilot tutorials require third party plugins, but about 75% of the time they also show you an alternative way to doing it with the built in plugins. :p[DOUBLEPOST=1343598760][/DOUBLEPOST]Also here is video copilots basic training videos, http://www.videocopilot.net/basic/ .... this will teach you all the basics to AE!
