AdBlock Plus whitelists YouTube (Can't block ads)

Looks like I'm an ******* to a huge broadcasting company that makes millions and millions a year and already gets money off me when I watch there shows on my TV and xbox.. oh well I'm sure they'll get over it.

I wasn't talking specifically about your situation, I really don't care but you said "who cares if a few people use it" which is why I responded with what I said.

Yes but I was aiming that at people who have channels the size of all of us on this forum (well.. most of us, there's a few with large channels). With our monetized views being less then half and each video making us like $0.01-$0.10, it's not going to make a huge difference if some people use adblockers on our videos.. I would rather people use an adblocker on my videos and watch an extra minute or 2 of my videos then being put straight off by the advert at the start. Them seeing the advert and not seeing the advert could be the difference in them watching another video or subscribing! I'm personally turning off adverts on my videos until I reach a larger audience.
They're not really making me any useable money because it doesn't get paid out till $50 and it might for all I know be putting people off my videos.

I doubt that 30 seconds will make a difference (sometimes 5 when there's a skip button) in a person's life as if it is precious time that cannot be wasted. Anyways, channels with 200 subscribers shouldn't be thinking about making money anyway because that's not what YouTube is about but that's a whole different discussion..

I am glad that you have this plan of action! I try explaining to smaller channels that it is more important to grow their audience then to try to monetize everything. If you notice one of your videos getting more traction then the others, at some point, enable monetization on THAT video.

And YouTube shouldn't be about money in the first place, I thought it was about having fun, tbh...

YouTube and Google are a for-profit entity. If somebody wants to use YouTube for fun, money, or both, that is up to them.

Don't pretend that you don't get my point, I'm talking about ethically and how it's viewed as well as the fact you won't get anywhere anywhere without having fun.

I didn't realize that's what you were saying. In my case, you are especially correct. I'm definitely having fun!

Too many people view Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars like they MUST be collectible and they MUST stay in mint packages. They are toys! Play with them! Or at least, have SOME to open up and display loose =)
