"Ad Supported Music"

Has anyone used it? For me it wont play the sound when i click on it but just says stuff about the policy and if I can use it or not - Has anyone used the music under the tab on the youtube creator studios? Just wondering and If so how do i play then music to preview it if you like.
 
you have to buy the song and upload it. I'm still confused because people are telling me you still need a license but the licenses are already paid for. I've confirmed this with several music companies.
 
I haven't used the ad-supported music yet but I did use a Christmas tune from the Free music side.

I wanted to post because I heard something alarming yesterday. Content rights-holders may allow you to use their content for now and they get the ad revenue. What was alarming was that the rights-holders can change their minds anytime in the future. They may decide to let you use the music now and change their mind later.

I'm not sure if that is true or not. If it is, my concern is that if we used the content during the ad-supported time period, the content should stay ad-supported in the future for our original work.

I'd be very upset if that's the case and they can change their minds whenever they fancy it with the free music in the audio library. I can't think of anyone who uses it who wouldn't feel done over in that circumstance.

Exactly. What happens if the current rights-owner, ABC music company, sells their catalog rights to 123 Music? Now 123 Music gets to determine if they want to allow the content to be monetized or not. Even worse, issue copyright strikes.
 
You'd hope that once a free licence is set that it can't be changed but to be honest I am unsure how the free music is licensed for us to use. When things aren't so clear its harder to trust it.
 
it's very confusing. if you go to harry fox the royalty collection and music publishers official site it says that YouTube has a license so to me I don't see how they can change their minds.
 
I contacted Universal, Sony, and Warner music and they all told me that the Ad Supported music will not give you a strike. They can only mute or block videos.

Does this apply to the free music too? Or just ad-supported?
