Ad-Supported Music anyone?

So who here has used some copywritted music from the Ad-Supported Library? My channel isn't monetized anyways, so I might...

Anyone have negative experiences or even dared to do it? Seems like every YouTuber I've met on here or elsewhere is still scared to do it, even though YouTube gives us the guidelines to the songs right there in the library...

Thoughts?

I have done it a lot and its fine for me! It obviously means you cannot monetise, like you said. Its also stopped me from joining a network in the past because I don't think you can with videos that contain copyrighted material.

The reason I do it is because my videos are largely music-oriented. I'm not really bothered about the effects right now!

I would not go with the ad supported music due to the fact my hard work will essentially line the pockets of the artists. Nope, just from the regular royalty free library here!

I see what you're saying.... but the royalty free stuff kinda blows.... it's alright, but idk everyone uses it. Using actual songs from real artists adds quality to the video in my opinion. People recognize the songs paired with decent camera work makes you look more credible... but that is just my opinion...[DOUBLEPOST=1432239710,1432239647][/DOUBLEPOST]

Good to hear man, I've read some mixed experiences when I googled it, seems like everyone is still scared to do it still

Yeah I know. I'm not sure why - its not illegal, there just may be restrictions as to where the video can be viewed, etc! I always check on the ad-supported library to make sure the song I use is okay!

Wish they would update it more... seems like some really popular songs aren't even on there

When I had no clue about those things I made one video with a song that I thought wouldn't be a problem because it was more than 10 years old. Then I was surprised to see ads on my video, researched a bit and regretted using the song. I don't want all money made to go to someone else when I did most of the work.
I'll now only use royalty free songs, even if I don't monetize, but it might happen someday. You never know and you need to plan for it.
