A YouTubers mother needs some help? (yes, her mother)

I'm sure that your kids want to be with Maker Studios because there are other kid channels with them. KittiesMama, MommyAndGracieShow, and EvanTubeHD are two of the largest.

I know that some kids' channels are not happy with Maker. I won't say if any of the above mentioned channels are in that group but as usual, the expectations from channels and what is actually delivered by the networks are the reason for dissatisfaction.

Sure, people think that since Disney bought Maker, that creators will have access to a treasure trove of special Disney perks. I have been urging caution until we know the realities of what will be offered.

Unless you are receiving some type of benefit by being with a network, you don't need to be with one. I am a kid's channel. I tried Fullscreen for a year. It was a waste of time and I am now network-free.

Base79 would be better than Maker Studios (RPM/ MakerGen) and Freedom (if that's who it was) by quite a long shot but not if it was their TheYouGeneration sector, then definitely don't.

Do not go with a network offering 60/40, if your channel is small and you would see tools being helpful then try for 80-90% possibly with Fullscreen.
If the channel is medium-large I would recommend either straight away or growing and then trying to go for a contract that is 100% YouTube sales and 50-70% network sales.

Edit (in case this would impact decision in any way) :
I doubt Fullscreen would give 80-90% to a small channel.

They sometimes do give 80% but those statements were mean to be separate. (try to get 80-90%) followed by (possibly try Fullscreen).

As I still firmly believe Fullscreen have the best tools available at-scale to smaller channels.

Thank you guys!
This is helping me a lot. Maybe a dumb question (yes im the mom in this story... :-/ ) But what is the difference between YouTube sales and network sales?[DOUBLEPOST=1404918511,1404918476][/DOUBLEPOST]
We're not currently with a network. I wouldn't accept a 60/40 split.
No networks that I'm aware of will take any creative control away from you.
Thank you,

So full screen would mean: the option to show fullscreen? But... dont they all? ...sorry! I dont understand what it would mean or what the difference would be.

Fullscreen as in the network has no effect on video player size :)

YouTube sales is the Adsense revenue and the network sales are deals networks get their larger channels such as branding deals. As a larger channel you could end up with all of the YouTube earnings and a percentage of the deals the network organises for you and any other network related sales.

I think... that with the total YouTube ignorance i'm rocking here, that... i might need a YouTube dictionary! Hahaha! Does anyone know where to find a list of words explained?
