I've Got It
Not mention, not all your subs get notified that you posted a video. This is something YT is working on.

It will work. Just give it time. I would just leave this video alone. If you check the analytics on it every day it will drive you crazy. Give it a few months and watch what happens![]()
I appreciate that you're doing this but unless we get a decent sample size (with all the random factors out there that sample size would have to be fairly huge) and run statistical tests on the outcome comparing just a few videos to each other won't tell us all that much...

If you promote it properly and in the right spots (relevant niche communities or FB pages (depending on subject matter), for example) and position it in such a way that the potential viewers know exactly what to expect, you should still get a very good retention rate for your videos through that promotion. The problem is that people don't do that. They'll just post 'hey, check out my video' with a link on as many random FB pages or forums as they can and then they'll be surprised when that promotion results in little subs and horrible retention. If they post something like this - "If you like 100% objective, thorough, and entertaining mobile electronics reviews, check out my new video on the Iphone 14. I'm sure you'll like it - LINK". A person won't get nearly as many overall clicks using the copy in the second example, but anyone who does click over will be pretty highly targeted, much more likely to subscribe, and much more likely to watch more of the video in question.e want youtube to recognise our video as one that's well watched so they promote it for us... so maybe it is best just to leave it up to our loyal subscribers who WANT to watch the video that way the video is being watched to the end and getting a high retention rate.
