A quick question about my channel name

WhatsUpMark

BreadFarking Good!
Hello!

I am TheMarkSquared, and I do comedy and internetainment (coined to Rhett and Link) videos on my main channel.

I have a dilemma. I have found out that 2 other channels share the same name with me - MarkSquared (an inactive account) and MarkSquaredPRC (A not-so-active company). Their accounts were made earlier than mine. My channel name is THEMarkSquared.

I have also realized that if people want to search for my channel, then they are required to add 'THE' or else they'll find the other two channels. Do you think this would serve as a problem?

Should I completely change my name? I've been using it since 2012. Or should I keep it and pray that the other two channels would just "disappear" from the search engines due to inactivity.

What should I do, YTTalk? I'm very confused.

Thank you.

I would say it could be problematic if you're trying to grow (which I assume you are). A name change could help, imo.

I'd still try to keep it based on "MarkSquared" though. Just a thought. :P

Thank you for the feedback guys! Yep, i own the domain for youtube.com/themarksquared. If you look at the stats also (although I know it doesn't matter) I am more present than the other 2 MarkSquareds. It is also good to know that searching themarksq on YouTube brings up my videos.

If I do change, what would be the setbacks? Do I have to create a new channel altogether? Thanks!

Well you can't change your url again so you would most likely have to create a new channel. :)
