A Good Stand-up Microphone?

Yeti + pop filter is what I use in my videos if you want a sample of the sound. Oh and through audacity.

Everyone's saying Snowball and I've tried it and it's awesome. However, if you're looking for something cheaper I use a CAD U1 USB Mic and it still has awesome quality at a much cheaper price. If you can afford it though, go for the Snowball.
Hey again. I know this thread is pretty old, but I wanted to ask you about the CAD U1 again. So I read some reviews that the mic has problems, such as buzzing, background noise, etc. Did you find a way around this?

Sorry it took a while to respond. I read these reviews also. On my older computer, I experienced a faint popping sound but I think that was just because of the old USB ports. When I tried it on my new computer, it's been working beautifully.

I think what people might be experiencing with the background noise is the vibrations from their hard drive. When I put my mic on my computer desk, it picks up the vibrations from the hard drive and translates it into a soft humming sound. Quick fix; I just put my mic on a little separate table beside my desk.

In any case, after I read the reviews, I made sure to get a CAD U1 with a return policy just in case. Haven't needed to return it though! I'd recommend the same for a purchase of any mic.

Ah, thank you for replying nonetheless, haha. Yeah, a return policy sounds pretty good. I was also looking at the CAD U37 microphone. The reviews seem to be much more favorable. However, I don't want to spend more money than I have to.

But yes, it's good to hear that you've found fixes for the problems that were displayed in the reviews. Your diligence is admirable. :D

Glad I could be of help :)
