A Good Stand-up Microphone?

Sirtoshi

That One Guy
Hello internet.

So for my videos and what not, I've been using a Turtle Beach gaming headset for the purpose of recording my voice. It works pretty well, but I might consider switching to a stand up microphone and a pop filter in the future. If that were the case, do you folks have any suggestions for a decent microphone of reasonable price? Yes, I know I can go searching myself, but I figured I'd ask here first just to see if anyone has any advice.

Thanks!

I LOVE my blue Snowball. I have a stand up microphone stand for it and we use it for voiceovers all the time and it sounds SO crisp and clean. I love it.

Thank you, my friends. I will take your suggestions into consideration.

On a side note, that Snowball mic looks very strange. I like it.

Everyone's saying Snowball and I've tried it and it's awesome. However, if you're looking for something cheaper I use a CAD U1 USB Mic and it still has awesome quality at a much cheaper price. If you can afford it though, go for the Snowball.

Looked it up on Amazon; seems much cheaper! I'll consider that as well, thank you.

The number of people who have a Blue microphone is directly proportional to the number of people who have never used another mic touting their benefits on internet forums.

Blue could be considered hobbyist standard because of how many people have them, but don't call it industry standard. It's not.

To the OP. Small 4-5 channel mixing board with USB out. Behringer, Mackie or Alesis. And a Shure SM58.

I use the G-Track. With that microphone you will have all in one. It has given me a quality oriented Audio with out any latency. I will be purchasing Studio monitors for using G-Track with them. G-Track gives me a professional sound at a lower cost. I am setting up my home studio for recording purpose. And this Baby will gonna give me a quick start.
