I run a channel that promotes rap artists, they basically send in their work to me and I upload it.

Some of these artists have gone viral and I am getting about 600,000 views a month.

On adsense my cpm has been around 0.40 to 0.80 cents for 2016,

Last year around this time i was getting closer to 2$

Should I join a network? All I care about is the CPM, as other opportunities are limited.

thanks, also willing to paypal a bit of money over to anyone that really helps me out. thanks!

Also please note that I'm not ripping these guys off, they know I make some money and I usually give them about 20 percent of the money I generate which is usually about 400 a month, although it was double that last year.

Dude, im not the biggest youtuber but im just leaving some advice. Yes, you should the networks are the one who pay you paychecks. You should do your reasearch as some will just take most of the money you want a good split of the money not something stupid like they get 80 to your 20 %, Hope i could help if not hopefully someone else will :)[DOUBLEPOST=1460859439,1460858875][/DOUBLEPOST]you should make 2-3 $ dollars to every 1000 views, im not sure if that's when the network takes there cut you or if thats what you earn. So in the range of 500$ minimum of course this is just a quick bit of research so not 100 % sure.

me too, my channel about music, vine, have 10k views per days, traffic from us, but only ~ 5$ . I'm use adsense , rpm 0.3-0.5 :crying:

I agree with RyanH. Joining a network your revenue will be cut less. Freedom for example will take a 40%, YouTube will automatically takes 40% no matter what. So in the end you will be left with 20% of what you make.

Furthermore regarding why you don't earn that much, you might wanna check and see none of the videos are breaking copyright. For example If use the music by well developed artist even if its only for 10-20 seconds, the monetizing earnings for the entire video will go to the developer of the song you used.

normally music channels have a bigger cpm than that. So something is going wrong somewhere.
Could you elaborate, please? Any ideas what could be wrong? I have the same problem. I'm getting 10k views per day, on average, and it's also 4-5$ (0,40 RPM). It's mainly sport content and the views come mostly from US, UK, Canada. I've monetized my channel in april, so I don't know how it was before, but I see many people complaining about april. I have to mention also that my videos have 2-3 minutes on average.

well your numbers are not that bad, just slightly below average.
The geo is from high paying countries usually but, what of those 10k how many are being monetised? There are normal dips in advertising revenue periodically when companies cut down the money spent to prepare for a new trimester/quarter.
People shouldn't freak out. They just need to keep optimising their channel and produce quality content.
