32 BIT to 64 BIT

Hey guys, i'm just sure if this is the right place to post this. If not I'm sorry I couldn't find where to otherwise. Anyway i'm trying to switch my computer from 32 BIT to 64 BIT, for more ram and to just be able to play more games. I'm not computer smart by any stretch of the meaning. I do know tho that my processor is able to run 64 BIT. I am currently running 32 BIT version of Vista. Thanks in advance!
 
I've done this with mine. Since you know your motherboard supports 64bit you just need to get a licensed 64bit windows installation and reinstall your windows then. I jumped from 32bit windows 7 to 64bit but yeah same thing you just need to have a 64bit windows vista installation then. If your windows was already installed when you bought that computer then i assume you don't have the installation CD? So in that case you need to get that unless you're a pirate lol
 
So what exactly is the question ? By the way I remember a few days back installing 32 bit on a 64bit computer and i had to look for another windows 64 bit installation disc cuz the drivers weren't available for 32 bit.. it was terrible

Yeah I bought my computer used so it had windows vista 32BIT on it already, and yes i don't have the disc, so I just need the disc and boom i'm done? I know i've heard something about drivers have to be switched from 32 to 64 so would that be on the disc as well?[DOUBLEPOST=1409649146,1409649113][/DOUBLEPOST]

Also my question is how to switch from 32 bit to 64 on my pc. I've never done it before.
 
To switch from 32 to 64bit you need a 64bit installation disc for windows. Keep in mind that some drivers you may have to find on your own first. I had to go find my wireless drivers on another computer online cuz when I installed 64 I couldn't go on the internet.
 
Just make sure to find the 64 bit drivers and you should be good. Take advantage of using more ram.
