300 Subscribers Before 1 Million Views :(

I have a lot more views than subs because I had one dominant video for a while and didn't even annotate it to ask for the sub. It was only after a while that I decided to start pursuing subs. So I have about a 1500:1 view-to-sub ratio.

my ratio is around 3100:1, I think this is some kind of record
 
You can build a viable channel around one viral video, I'm proof of that. It just takes time to get all those subs! Subs grow slower than views, especially the more videos you make. It's not a bad problem to have, though.

yeah I've yet to make anything viral. My latest video has done well so far, I think that's where my sudden overflow of subs (probably like 7) came from. It hit 14k pretty fast compared to any other videos that have passed the 10k mark. I doubt it will be "viral" though.
 
Congratulations on the 300 subscribers. Good luck with your next goal! You'll make it, I'm sure.
