So the Streamy Awards happened at they aired live on the internet and I would like to point about three observations. And if you don't know the Streamy's honor the best in online video, and they are not sponsored by YouTube in any way. streamys.org
1. I ususlly don't watch awards, but the streamys were hillaous. And I don't follow up on celebrities much, but I know who the popular YouTubers are so at least this time I knew who almost all of the presenters and winners were. Plus, there was way less commericals then an award show on Tv.
2.The streamys started back in 2009. I looked at the site and looked at the past nomminees. What I found is in the past the nominees were just brands, companys adversting campgins, and content from other video sharing sites and there were a few YouTubers. But this year for the first time in stremy history, it seems to be reveresd, almost all of the nominees were from YouTube. I guess that goes to show the power of the site and the people on it.
3. PLOT TWIST! One of the final awards of the night was best internet show. Now this is HUGE and it is FAN VOTED. And I saw tons of tweets in the past couple days about people voting for mymusic, and roosterteeth and soucefed. So I was complety shocked when the winner was Enchufetv. Now if you have never heard of them they are a Latin American channel and all of their content is in Spanish. When I was watching the live broadcast when they were announced the winners everyone commented how the show was rigged. But I don't think that. I think sometimes we forget YouTube is global and not everything on YouTube is spoken English. If anything, the Streamys showed how global YouTube really is.

but ill try find some highlights on youtube somewhere and take a look
