15 min youtube requirement

Question, I just recorded some gameplay with my ElGato HD60, but it does not allow me to upload more than 15min to youtube.. any suggestions? Or is it just not possible till I become a partner ?
 
Yes My account is already verified.. but when I try to upload the footage from my Elgato it said youtube has a 15 min limit :/ .. does that mean I have to export and then upload?
 
Yes I already have that green flash next to "Longer Videos" I guess the El Gato Editing software doesn't allow longer than 15min upload I might have to export and upload directly
 
I use Elgato as well, but I've never tried the direct upload before, so I can't say for sure on that point. But you should be good to go if you just upload the regular way.

Yea seems like the only way around it is exporting from El Gato. I didn't want to do that but oh well I was going to have to learn how to edit videos some day here goes nothing lol.

Any software you recommend for iMac? ( noob friendly )
 
I also use Elgato but only to record, I then edit it in Vegas and upload to YouTube! I've posted videos longer than 15 minutes this way :)
 
Elgato capture cards have a limit because when it uploads them it puts them in a temporary folder that only has enough space for 15 minutes worth of footage.
