1080p30 or 720p60?

So I want to get back into the YouTube scene since it's something I've always loved and now I have a good PC I think I can do just that.

Well, I say "good PC" it has a 570 Power Edition and Phenom II 955, it's capable of running most games on High or Ultra at decent FPS.

When recording on a lot of games my FPS goes from around 45-60 (Fallout 4, for example) to around stable 30, for me this is perfectly acceptable at 1080p an high settings.

However, if I were to turn resolution from 1080p to 720p this completely doubles my FPS, for obvious reasons.

So my big questions: Which should I choose? 1080p but 30FPS or 720p at 60FPS?

Or should I mix them (don't know if it would be a good idea to give some videos at 1080p or 1080p60 and others at 720p60)?

Playing at 720p or 30FPS does not bother me, I'm used to that with my old PC, I await your input. :D

Also if this in wrong section, sorry, it's 9AM and this looks like section for discussing recording? :D

1080p60 ftw man.

This is not the answer I'm looking for, if you bothered to read the post, I'm aware that 1080p60 has a huge quality increase over the other 2, which is why I am aiming to try mixing them. Thanks for the response, but looking for a more elaborate reply, rather than a 3-4 word "ftw" statement. :P

Are you not able to record in 1080p60? Is that why you're wanting to mix 1080p30 and 720p60? If not then I would go 720p60 but that's just me. I don't really notice much difference in 1080p and 720p.

Ech, I read over my post, I was a bit snappy, my apologies.

That's it really, 1080p60 in a lot of games is possible for me but for more demanding games like Fallout 4 won't run at 60FPS while recording at 1080p at even lower settings.

However at 720p, Fallout 4 runs perfectly fine at 60FPS with some small drops but nothing major.

Lol don't worry about it, I seemed like an a**.

I would definitely go 720p60 to ensure you get 60fps solid and still have nice looking content.

720p60 would be the way to go, because it will look smoother, and it will give most mobile users a chance to see 60fps if their highest res. is 720p. So, go for 720p60

Definitely go for 720p 60fps. If you couple it with good commentary no one will care it's not 1080p and on a standard wide screen monitor 720p on YouTube looks pretty good.
