1080p vs 720p Any Difference in SEO and Views?

STAY SMOKEY PEOPLE!
I know that Youtube likes watch time and other things like keywords, tags, description ect. I got all that but does 1080p yield any better results retention or view wise then 720p? Does youtube rank 1080p higher?

I don't think so since both 720P and 1080p in YouTube are considered HD, I don't think it would make a whole lot of a difference if any.

From computer screen they should make no difference. But it is always good to keep your videos 1080p, just if someone is looking your videos via TV or a very large screen.

I don't know if it makes your videos show up rather than someone elses but I do it and I also render at the highest quality, even though my videos usually end up being 1GB per 2 minutes D:

no it doesn't what i recommend is to render videos in 720p since ALOT of youtubers/individuals dont view videos in even 480p sometimes its mostly 360p that and 240p thats viewed since it buffers much faster, there's a very small amount of youtubers with good internet connection that will video your video in 1080p, unless your doing gameplays i dont advice you render a video in 1080p, i do gameplays and i always record in 480p and render in 720p ;-)

You're a noob! :P Just kidding, but it does make a major difference on Monitor, unless you only have a 1280x720 monitor, which most people don't! Most people have 1366x768,1600x900,1920x1080, and 4k so even if you have 768p monitor 1080p makes a difference.

I've thought about this and been tempted to try it out to see if the results were any different, but in my case it wouldn't be worth it and I know nothing of 1080P ranking above 720P so it could be a lot of trial and error for nothing, talking months of trial and error. Although when I originally started YouTube, I was doing 1080P and stopped doing it late last year, from that I noticed no difference in gaining views or rankings over 1 resolution or the other, although I did inform my subs of the changes due 1080P putting strain on what I could upload and storage space. For a gaming channel I'd only recommend 720P, consider it a luxury for viewers as a good majority of them will watch it in the default resolution which changes depending on their internet connections.

It doesn't change SEO wise, but like others said you should mine as well do 1080p. I mean, a lot of people have 1080p smart phones, monitors that are above 720p, 4k is coming out more regularly, and 720p is going to start fading over the years. I usually watch in 1080p because I watch in full screen on a 1080p monitor.

Thanks everyone! Im hoping i get that comcast internet soon just so i can test both. I like 720 for youtube. I just didnt want to be a minority
