I would always do 1080... because you video will be good for all platforms.

Personally when u record I do it in 1080p there really isn't to much of a difference but even so it's better to have it.

1080p is worth it. Number 1 compliment i get on my tutorials! OMG its in HD i can see every wire your working with and does't look like it was filmed with a calculator or a potato

I have a pretty high end graphics card, so I've never had an issue with recording/rendering in 1080p, so I always do that. I'm glad I do too because then my videos look pretty decent, even on my 40" Samsung Smart TV

Yeah use 1080 because in a couple years it will be obsolete anyway and then people will glance at your videos and go ... s**t that things not even 1080 and move on to something better.
