1080p - 50fps WHATTA?!

FraYoshi

GNU lover ^^
Okay... :meh2:
Today I felt very disappointed w/ the Great G [hmm.. GG sounds good.... anyway!]

I started recording and editing in 50fps... so I searched on the help desk how to handle such a frame rate!

I thought... :bookworm2: I must, surelly, encode my video in 25/30fps and upload!

:eeks: BUT HEI! :eeks:
YouTube "suggests" to upload at the SAME frame rate the video was recorded.

RESULT:
from 720p to 1080p
, people can watch the video ONLY at 50fps!!!!!! :eeks:
It means that the most part of the world will see a not fluid video!!!!
THAT'S BAD!!! I immediatelly reported with a feedback! :facepalm2: Let's hope in a fix!!

and the most bad part is that audio and video in 1080 were out of 5 seconds in sync!!!! :banghead2:

What do You think about this?
Do You consider It like an error?
I think they'd to let people choose between 1080p25 and 1080p50 :bored2:

I don't really understand what you mean. Are they now offering 50fps? That had to happen at some point because they were already offering 60fps which was a little unfair to everyone in countries with different frame rates. So that's a good thing. Personally I can't use 50fps because my camera can only handle it in 720p but not 1080p and I rather use a higher resolution than frame rate.

Weird, I didn't know 50FPS was even an option. I thought it went from 60 down to 30, and then to 24. I upload footage anywhere from 240FPS to 24, but the only options I ever get are 60 and 30 when playing it back.

Yeah. 50/60FPS is locked at 720p/1080p.
Only in Google Chrome as far as I know, though.

I don't see the problem with it, though.
It just means that people that can run 720p+ will get a more fluid video.

Yep!
25/50fps are the standard in Italy because of the storical 50Hz matter of electricity :)
I don't see the problem with it
Unfortunatelly.. It requires better system performances....
My PC can't play a video at 1080p50 from the HDD.. Need to move It on a SSD to see It ^^
I tested... And can't play the video from YouTube....
And just like me... many other can't play...

Ah. I've experienced that with 60FPS videos when I tried once at work.
They sort of staggered.

I didn't know you needed a good enough computer to run 60FPS videos :O
But that makes more sense now, that I've heard of other cases xP

Doesn't YT consider someone's internet connection? I would think they only offer 50/60fps to those whose connection can handle it. Otherwise it really is weird they don't offer 25/30fps.
If you're too worried about your videos lagging, maybe encode and upload them at lower frame rates after all.

That's what I've done ^_^
I thought that people could think I made It wrong, closing the video u.u
That's not what I want :)
So... re-uploaded at 25fps ^_^

Nope, it even works on FirefFox now. It used to only be chrome for me as well.
