I personally experienced that the big 1K is when things start to shoot off at a faster rate - you're getting enough new subscribers at a steady enough rate that you don't have to worry about f*****g up, but you're not getting enough so that the channel will always gain more on its own.

Wait til you hit 10k! That's when you reach a fanbase kind of safety. ;)
