What's the ordering of the Youtubers online now list, anyway? Is it just a randomised jumble, or am I just not seeing how they're sorted?

Its ordered by who was last online, for example, if you were the last visitor to the site you would be at the top left, if I came online a second later (assuming no one else comes online), I would be at the top left of it and you would go to the 2nd position

Its good.

I like the "latest videos" tab a lot. Although I will never use the "popular" tab, I'm glad its at the 2nd position. And I imagine a low rotation on that tab. Also, as mentioned, it looks like a staff promo lol
