Symph
I'm a dude with a face and I know how to use it.
I've heard way too many stories of people uploading something to youtube, but not getting the copyright. Then someone who has some money for promotion and a band or whatnot steals the idea and obtains the real copyright, then when the other person claims it's there's they have no legal ground because the thief has the real copyright. I know people it's happened to. So no when you have the copyright you don't just send it to youtube, it's a safety net for proof in case one day you wake up and see someone getting famous of your song. That's when you file a complaint with the government, have them subpoenaed into court, and then you show the JUDGE your proof or copyright. And they have to stop pretending the song is their's and also pay you alot of money for damages.Well I dont have much legal knowledge. But as far as I understand, if someone creates any content, he/she/it is the copyright holder. I dont think one needs to shell any money to get those rights that they already have. Atleast its no needed to upload it on YT. Well I can be wrong but..awww sounds strange. What do you do after you get that copyright thing done? Do you mail it to YT?
So sure, if no one takes your song, it doesn't matter if you have a copyright or not, if they do, you're gonna want it.
