YouTube removing subs - all discussion here

I Love YTtalk
Yesterday I was really excited to pass 12k subscribers. When I went to bed I had 12,010. When I woke up this morning I has 11,943 which means I lost 67 overnight. I didn't do anything unusual and I don't normally see a dip in numbers like that, so I'm thinking it might be YouTube having a clearout of dormant accounts...? Is there any way of knowing for sure when YouTube do that? Or has anyone else lost numbers in the last 24 hours?

Yes.. it seems to be happening every 2 or 3 weeks.. at least to us.. we will grow.. and then bam they are gone. So I don't even look at our subs.

Hello
I recently lost some subs but I want to know why they left becaus if you look at my channel I uploadet some fancy sfm fan animations which were really liked and got alot views and likes but suddenly 2 people left ( I had 38 and now I have 36 ).
The only clue I have is the latest video where I say that I will stop doing giveaways because I feel like buying subs which don't even like my videos.

My questions are:
Why did they leave?
Am I right that they left because of the giveaways? ( because I stopped doing them. I decidet to only do them on milestones)
Have I made the right choice stopping the giveaways?
I really need some good answers :c
